Mobitor Injection

Atipamezole Hydrochloride 5mg/mL

For parenteral use in reversing and abolishing the effects of medetomidine and dexmedetomidine hydrochloride in dogs and cats.

The following dosage should be adhered to when administering Mobitor to counter the effects of medetomidine hydrochloride:

DOG

5 times that of previous 1 mg/mL medetomidine hydrochloride dose (50-400 μg/kg atipamezole hydrochloride). The same volume as the medetomidine hydrochloride dose.

CAT 

2.5 times that of previous 1mg/mL medetomidine hydrochloride dose (125-375 μg/kg atipamezole hydrochloride). Half the volume of the medetomidine hydrochloride dose.

 

 

The following dosage should be adhered to when administering Mobitor to counter the effects of dexmedetomidine hydrochloride:

 DOG

10 times that of previous 0.5mg/mL dexmedetomidine hydrochloride dose (375-500 μg/kg atipamezole hydrochloride). The same volume as the 0.5mg/mL dexmedetomidine hydrochloride dose.

CAT

5 times that of previous 0.5mg/mL dexmedetomidine hydrochloride dose (200 μg/kg atipamezole hydrochloride). Half the volume as the 0.5mg/mL dexmedetomidine hydrochloride dose.

 

Mobitor is quickly absorbed and it is recommended that at these dose levels it can be administered 15 to 60 minutes after administration of medetomidine hydrochloride or dexmedetomidine hydrochloride dose.
